MTCIT launches Future Mobility to bolster eco-friendly transport
Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) launched an initiative called ‘Future Mobility’ on Monday at Oman Sustainability Week 2024 with the aim of bolstering eco-friendly transportation objectives in Oman.
An official at MTCIT stressed the fact that the initiative is in direct response to the pressing need to tackle carbon emissions and outlines the ministry's concerted efforts to curtail emissions across the transportation, communications and information technology sectors.
Future Mobility sets out to shine a spotlight on pioneers in transportation who are spearheading sustainability efforts through state-of-the-art technologies, digital solutions and intelligent infrastructure.
It will feature electric and hybrid vehicles, alongside complementary components that pave the way for the sector's transition to sustainability. By showcasing the latest concepts, solutions and innovations in environmental mobility, the initiative dovetails with Oman's aspirations to forge a carbon-neutral economy.
The initiative will delve into contemporary trends in clean transport, engage with industry luminaries, and glean insights from the ever-evolving mobility landscape.
MTCIT also took part in a visual presentation on sustainable transport, underscoring its manifold economic, health and social benefits. The presentation, which was an integral part of Oman Sustainability Week, underscored the significance of emissions reduction for enhancing energy efficiency, fostering economic growth, and elevating the health and social well-being of individuals.
