Association of Early Intervention for Children with Disabilities paving way for inclusive future in Oman
Early Intervention is an integrated system of programmes, procedures, and policies for children with disabilities and their families.
The association aims to detect disabilities early, provide appropriate rehabilitation, and improve the quality of life of children and their families through support and education on handling children’s disabilities best. It reduces the burden on families by supporting them continuously, every step of the way.
With a deep commitment to the inclusion and empowerment of children with disability and their families. The association provides a holistic rehabilitation services to support each child and families by encompassing rehabilitation, social, training, educational, therapeutic, and recreational programmes tailored to meet their unique needs.
AEICD’S Chief Executive Officer Sabah al Bahlani said, “We would like to thank His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik for the
Vision 2040, in which the objective has been reinforced by having well-being and social protection as a primary national priority. The strategic direction to have a decent and sustainable life for all, including people and children with disabilities.”
He also accorded much gratitude to the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said “for granting association the land and three hundred thousand to support the construction of the building; he believed in our mission in helping children with disability to receive the rehabilitation needed.”
The association has been providing services since the year 2000, thanks to the Ministry of Endowment and Religious Affairs for providing the building where we served three thousand children. Due to the association’s merit and the increased demand for its services, it was imperative for the Board of Directors to decide building a headquarter that will encompasses a state of art rehabilitation centre, which will enable the association to expand its services with improved facilities and high standard and strive for best practices.
“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Al Jisr foundation for supporting the construction of the association headquarters building along with several foundation, Oman LNG Development Foundation, Eshraqa Foundation, Soud Bahwan Charitable Foundation, MB foundation, and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and Sohar Aluminum, Company, individuals and community. Thanks to Bank Al Izz developing crowd fund to support on fund raising and to Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral and petroleum companies for purchasing the furniture and equipment. Their tremendous support allowed the association to expend and provide services to more children and their families.”
