French academic society, Madeleine Imkey jointly launch cultural initiative
The Academic Society Arts-sciences-lettres, an association dedicated to promoting artists, people of letters, and scientists worldwide, has announced the launch of the ground-breaking international initiative in Muscat.
Christened ‘Bridging Nations with Interculturality, Inclusivity, and SDGS’, the initiative has been taken in partnership with Madeleine Imkey, a release stated. This historic event marks the first international cultural endeavour undertaken by the Academy outside of French territory in its illustrious 109-year history, showcasing the global significance of Oman's cultural landscape.
This visionary project seeks to cultivate intercultural dialogue, inclusivity, and promote the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS) through the transformative medium of art. For the first time, the academy will bestow highly coveted medals for artistic creations originating outside of France, underscoring the exceptional talent and cultural impact of the artworks crafted during this monumental occasion.
Under the leadership
Madeleine Imkey, the initiative unites 17 children and young adults with special needs, each bringing forth unique talents and backgrounds. Over three immersive days, these participants will collaborate with 17 esteemed artists from Oman and other international countries, infusing their creations with inspiration drawn from the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS).
The initiative aspires to amplify marginalised voices and break down barriers through collaborative artistic exploration. By partnering with associations dedicated to supporting marginalised communities, the project aims to empower participants and raise awareness about pressing global issues.
The upcoming event, scheduled from Sunday to Thursday, promises an enriching experience for all attendees. It commences with the grand opening ceremony on Sunday, presided over by H H Sayyid Dr Kamil bin Fahad al Said, at the Kempinski Hotel. Following this, enriching workshops will be held for five days at the Music Palace in AlMouj, providing a platform for artistic expression.
