- Our Correspondent

The camp intends to equip young attendees with the tools and knowledge necessary to become future leaders in sustainability

Carbon6, a social ideation enterprise, will host a camp called Sustainable Leadership for Youth on May 10 and 11 at Crowne Plaza Muscat OCEC.

The camp will unlock circular potential in three main categories - technology and innovation, environment and circular economy, and sustainable tourism and hospitality.

The event aims to serve as a platform for dialogue and interaction among youth, stakeholders and experts to address social and environmental issues. Through workshops, activities and informal discussions, it seeks to involve highprofile supporters and provide practical insights into sustainability.

The objectives of the camp are multifaceted. It intends to equip young attendees with the tools and knowledge necessary to become future leaders in sustainability. It also aims to foster dialogue that supports Oman's net-zero agenda and highlight opportunities for emerging sustainable leaders.

Additionally, the camp seeks to increase youth engagement in sustainability, enhance skills for building a climate-resilient future, and strengthen overall capacity building.

According to Carbon6, the way forward is to collaborate inclusively with various stakeholders to enhance sustainability awareness across sectors. The camp is expected to lead to more effective social solutions, improved capabilities and better resource management.

Support for the youth camp has come from several prominent organisations, including Omran, be'ah and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, demonstrating a significant endorsement of the event’s objectives and Carbon6’s mission.
