Madinat Al Irfan to host inaugural SOCCA World Cup in November
This agreement reflects the group’s ongoing efforts to support various prominent international events, which play a crucial role in enhancing Oman’s global tourism profile

Muscat - Omran Group has on Monday entered into an agreement with the Sports Makers to sponsor the SOCCA 2024 World Cup for six-a-side football, the event that is expected to expand the horizon of the tourism sector by creating new opportunities and reasons for people to visit the country.
Following this agreement, Oman will be hosting the tournament’s inaugural edition in the Middle East, scheduled to take place from November 28 to December 8 this year, in Madinat Al-irfan, Muscat.
The agreement was signed by Dr Hashil Obaid al Mahrooqi, CEO of Omran Group, and Waleed Juma al Obaidani, President of the International SOCCA Federation in the Middle East and CEO of Sports Makers, in the presence of several officials from both the organisations.
Commenting on the agreement, Sultan Sulaiman al Khudhoori, Asset Manager at Omran Group, stated that hosting the SOCCA 2024 World Cup is a landmark event that will attract visitors from around the world.

Obaidani added, “We value the strategic partnership with Omran Group to host the SOCCA World Cup in Oman. The tournament will be an exceptional event among the global competitions held in Oman, and we are confident that the partnership with Omran Group will enrich the tournament and its participants in many aspects. We look forward to collaborating in the execution of all the planned events in various governorates as part of the promotional campaign for the SOCCA World Cup.”
The six-a- side football tournament is expected to feature the participation of around 44 to 85 teams from various countries. Additionally, it is anticipated that many spectators will attend to immerse themselves in this global competition.
Omran Group is actively collaborating with various local, regional, and international institutions and entities to enhance tourist experiences across different destinations.
Furthermore, the group is identifying opportunities and projects aimed at strengthening the tourism sector and its role in achieving sustainable development goals.
