- Our Correspondent

Muscat Municipality has reached a significant milestone, achieving 60% completion in the development of two new parks in Seeb, which have been chosen to enhance recreational facilities for residents, while expanding the city’s green spaces.

The Al-khoudh 7 and Hay Jabreen parks in Mawaleh, cover areas of 3,000sqm and 8,000sqm respectively.

These projects are part of the municipality’s strategic plan to increase the number of parks across various wilayats of the Muscat governorate this year.

The initiative underscores the commitment of the governorate to augment green spaces in residential areas, offering a safe and enjoyable environment for families and enhancing the social and health life of the community.

The construction of the park in the Jabreen residential area is particularly noteworthy. Positioned behind the Islam Mosque, this park sits in a vibrant setting surrounded by residential and commercial establishments.

Similarly, the Al-khoudh 7 Park is developing swiftly to meet the needs of its community.

The new parks are designed with inclusivity in mind, providing facilities for people with disabilities and incorporating elements such as sports walkways, children’s play areas, physical exercise equipment, and seating areas. Additional amenities include landscaping, green spaces, enhanced lighting, a café, restrooms, a prayer hall, and public parking.

The implementation of these parks not only beautifies the residential areas but also aligns with Muscat’s urban expansion plans. By optimising the use of small spaces for green areas, the projects aim to provide sustainable services to the region’s residents, encouraging physical activity and creating a tranquil environment free from urban noise and pollution.

These parks are envisioned as central hubs for community interaction, promoting social connections and improving the quality of life in Muscat.
