Al Watanyiah United Engineering & Contracting Company bagged the ‘Best Contractor for Civil Project,’ award at Dossier Construction’s Infrastructure Awards & Summit 2019, recently.

HE Saif bin Mohammed Al-Shabibi, Minister of Housing, was the chief guest and HE Dr. Rasheed bin al Safi al Huraibi, Chairman of Tender Board was the guest of honour. The event was also graced by HE Sheikh Salim Bin Mustahail Al Mashani.

The award was presented to Al Watanyiah for A’Sharqiyah University Phase-11-Ibra. A’Sharqiyah University in Ibra is the largest private University in the Sharqiyah region providing education to more than 3000 students. The project included construction of academic buildings including infrastructure for A’Sharqiyah University at a cost of RO23 million.

Leading names in construction, infrastructure, real estate, manufacturing and design and engineering consultancies participated in the event. The event was instituted by Dossier magazine, published by United Media Services, part of Muscat Overseas Group. Launched in 2007, Dossier is Oman’s first Business-to-Business (B2B) publication. This year marked the seventh edition of the event and was organised under the auspices of Ministry of Housing and Ministry of Tourism.

Among other key projects undertaken by the company recently include the construction of an interchange in place of the existing Sohar roundabout along with allied works. The upgrading of Sohar Roundabout was undertaken at a cost of RO25 mn.
