Muscat — A true Arabian flavour

-

worldwide, regional unrest and geopolitical changes in the Middle East. Muscat continues to be a perfect destination for families in search of holiday destinations.

The forthcoming Muscat Festival and celebrations of Muscat as the Arab Tourism Capital are expected to make this city one of the top holiday destinations for the tourists from within the Gulf region or Middle East as a whole this year. Also, an increasing number of Omanis and other Arabs may decide to holiday in Muscat in 2012.

The number of bookings to Muscat is expected to increase in a big way thanks to significant improvement in the city’s infrastructure facilities — expanding everything from its museums to its resorts. Moreover, the Muscat Festival 2012 is forecast to be the biggest draw the capital has to offer.

From the above one can easily conclude that the current year promises to be full of events for the Capital City of Muscat.

In order to keep pace with the country’s economic growth, construction and tourism, increasing vehicular population, the Capital City has embarked on many unique projects in recent times.

In this context, it won’t be out of place to say that Muscat needs more entertainment parks for children. In all the parks, children’s entertainment facilities including educative toys for the mind and others for physical fitness need to be provided.

Undoubtedly, one of the benefits of Muscat being Arab Tourism Capital for 2012 is that it will position Oman as an ideal and preferred tourism destination in the region. More Arab tourists will visit Oman not only because of unrest in Arab countries but because Muscat is a unique family destination in its own right.

Within this decade in particular, Muscat, the scenic gem of the Sultanate, has grown into one of the hottest tourist spots in the Middle East, offering tourists a range of distinctive experiences — a largely-untouched coastline, deserts, mountains, a rich cultural heritage, ports, caves, castles and palaces and forts.

Throughout the city of Muscat the network of sidewalks is impressive. Muscat’s natural beauty and pristine coastal environment featuring saline creeks, mangroves and rocky coral reefs, are great magnets for tourists.

Muscat is one of the few capitals in the region where one can experience the true Arabian flavour in a warm and friendly atmosphere. It offers a wealth of archaeological, historical, geological, wildlife and marine spots for people of a cross section of interests.
