Oman-korea ties witness rapid growth

MUSCAT — An official session of talks between the Sultanate and Korea was held yesterday.

The Omani side was Chaired by His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, while the Korean side was Chaired by Kim Hwang-sik, Prime Minister of Korea.

HH Sayyid Fahd affirmed that while the good relations between the Sultanate and Korea are deep-rooted and date back to a long period, the effective co-operation between the two countries got thrust with the blessed Renaissanc­e era at the early 70s. These relations have witnessed rapid growth in the past period; thanks to the keenness of the wise leadership­s in both countries to develop these relations.

He pointed out to the importance of giving the OmaniKorea­n Joint Committee a bigger role in translatin­g the co-operation fields among them and crystallis­e them into reality that enhance the distinguis­hed relations between the two sides. The Omani-korean Business Council should also play a similar role.

Later, HH Sayyid Fahd hosted at Al Bustan Palace Hotel a dinner in honour of Kim Hwang-sik and his accompanyi­ng delegation currently visiting the Sultanate.

The dinner was attended by ministers, advisers, senior officials and heads of the diplomatic missions accredited to the Sultanate. — ONA
