Bridge to the future

a resident of Hamriya area where my family settled down some 25 years ago. For the past one and a half years, a construction and maintenance company has been doing repair works in this area. They do sewage, drainage and small road repairing works. In a small place like Hamriya, road rollers, JCBS, bobcats and other heavy to medium sized construction equipment of this company have been causing major hindrance to the residents as well as motorists passing this way.
Remember, this area is the easy connecting point to the touristic destination Yiti. We could see that they are digging at the same places where they dug a few months ago.
Hamriya was severely affected by the recent rains and floods. And the severity of the situation was partly caused by the activities of this construction company without any planning, according to many experts who commented in newspapers in the following days.
Recently they asphalted some parts of the road, but within days the company started cutting and digging the roads again apparently for mending some technical faults. Or can anyone think further?
We, as citizens of this country, and as residents of this particular area, have all the liberty to know what is going on in Hamriya. In some countries, there is a law called Right to Information (RTI) with which they have all liberty to know
about anything of public interest.

As far as we know, there are some repairing and drainage works going on. We strongly feel that the company representatives should come forward and let the people know actually what work is being carried out. IAM
delighted to know about the new scholarship programme that has been put in place by Bankmuscat. I am happy that such schemes will go a long way in helping students to achieve their goals. I am excited about the prospect of qualifying for the scholarship.
The results of these efforts shall surely be seen in the development of the youth and reflect in the progress of the years to come.
