HM Cup for crafts

MUSCAT — The Main Committee for Sultan Qaboos Craft Excellence Competition yesterday held a meeting to follow up the progress of different fields of the competition after receiving the works that compete for His Majesty’s cup from various governorates of the Sultanate.

The meeting was presided over by Shaikha Aisha bint Khalfan al Siyabiya, Chairperson of the Public Authority for Craft Industries (Paci). The meeting discussed a number of themes including follow up of the works of the different committees and the distribution of the tables for the initial evaluation.

The initial evaluation committee will submit its report on the works taking part in the competition and how far they meet the requirements for the final evaluation committee which in turn will develop a timetable to evaluate the works taking part at the competition.

The programme includes field visits to all governorates to raise a report on each governorate to the final evaluation committee.

The different committees have many functions including ensuring that everything is going accurately and smoothly.

The media committee, which includes representatives of Oman Radio and TV, Oman News Agency, are responsible for providing media coverage for the competition inside and outside the Sultanate as per the rules and regulations. — ONA
