Indian Social Club register 21-run win

MUSCAT — Indian Social Club (ISC) registered a 21run win against Muscat Duty Free (MDF) in a Raha Poly Products-sponsored ‘D’ Division T20 match conducted by Oman Cricket. The first match of the morning was played during the weekend at the University Grounds.

Electing to bat after winning the toss ISC — thanks to useful contributi­ons from the top- order made 165 for seven wickets at the end of their quota of 20 overs. Opening batsman skipper Nishit Punja 58 (51b, 4x4), his partner Pranav Mehta 36 (23b, 2x6 and 3x4) and Druvin Shetty batting at No 3 chipped in with 32 (22b, 3x4).

Skipper Ganesh Sadashiva and Mohan claimed two wickets each conceding 22 and 27 runs respective­ly.

MDF were off to a good start but with the exit of No 3 batsman Saleem Shaikh 47 (23b, 3x6 and 5x4) and opening batsman Deepak Kumar 35 (25b, 2x6 and 2x4) wickets tumbled and MDF were bowled out for 144 off 17.2 overs.

Chetan Mallya two for 15, Pranav Mehta two for 20, Samson Babu two for 24 and Druvin Shetty two for 25 shared the wickets to fall.

ALL-ROUND SHOW BY JAISON MANJILA

In another Raha Poly Products-sponsored ‘D’ Division T20 match, the second match of the morning played at the same venue skipper Jaison Manjila with an unbeaten 67 and bowling figures of two for 30 off four overs helped Enhance Eagles register an easy five-wicket win against Al Hassan.

Winning the toss and deciding to bat Al Hassan were off to a good start with openers Shahbaz Ahmed scoring 67 and his partner Tahir Mohammed chipping in with 57 the duo putting together 93 runs for the first wicket off 9 overs. With their exit in quick succession the run rate dropped and Al Hassan managed to reach 187 for five wickets at the end of 20 overs.

Enhance Eagles in reply scored 188 for five wickets off 18 overs with opening batsman Deepak Nicholas contributi­ng a valuable 49 runs.

SUJITH AND SUFIYAN STAR IN MCCC ‘A’ WIN

Sujith Babu with an unbeaten 61 (38b, 7x4) and Mohammed Sufiyan with bowling figures of four for 18 off three overs helped MCCC ‘A’ crush Omasco by a massive 126 runs. The ‘F’ Division T20 match was the third match of the day at the same venue.

Batting first after winning the toss MCCC ‘A’ piled up 204 runs for three wickets off the 20 stipulated overs — thanks to an unfinished 94 run fourth wicket partnershi­p between Sujth Babu and Al Fayd 33 not out (21b, 2x4).

Earlier Adil Abbas batting at No 3 made 38 (25b, 5x4) and opening batsman Mohammed Shajjad chipped in with 22 (20b, 2x4).

Faced with a daunting target of 205 for victory OMASCO were bundled out for 78 off 11.4 overs with only opening batsman Hussain Zaheer scoring 24 (16b).

Al Fayd and skipper Shaukat Khan claimed two wickets each conceding 15 and 24 runs respective­ly to lend valuable support to Mohammed Sufiyan.
