PEIE signs agreement for maintenanc­e of industrial estates Shumookh, Takamul, Shaqab Abela JV set up to provide facilities management services

MUSCAT — The Public Establishm­ent for Industrial Estates (PEIE) signed with COMO Facilities Management Services, a trade name for United Facilities Management Services LLC — an Omani Integrated Facilities Management Services Company – to provide operation and maintenanc­e services to its utilities and common areas in the various industrial estates across the Sultanate; namely Rusayl Industrial Estate, Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM), Nizwa Industrial Estate, Sur Industrial Estate, Raysut Industrial Estate, Al Mazunah Free Zone, Buraimi Industrial Estate, and Sohar Industrial Estate.

The agreement was signed at the headquarte­rs of PEIE recently by Hilal bin Hamad al Hasani, CEO of the Public Establishm­ent for Industrial Estates (PEIE) and Ayad Tassabehji, General Manager of (COMO) United Facilities Management Services.

COMO is a company initiated by Shumookh Investment & Services SAOC, the investment arm of PEIE, to provide effective facilities management and services required by various organisati­ons from the government and private sectors.

COMO is a trade name for United Facilities Management Services LLC, establishe­d to provide high standards of quality services. The company is a joint venture between Shumookh Investment & Services SAOC, Takamul Investment Company SAOC, and Shaqab Abela Catering Services LLC — Qatar.

One of the foundation elements of the company is to provide job opportunit­ies for Omani nationals and train them in their specialise­d fields of interests, such as HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical and Civil works.

The maintenanc­e

services to be provided by COMO are impeccable and industry-leading. Those services include MEP and Civil maintenanc­e, in addition to soft services such as cleaning, landscapin­g and pest control. The agreements also include the operation and maintenanc­e of the Sewage Treatment Plants at Sohar, Raysut and Rusayl Industrial Estates.

COMO will focus on the delivery of high quality, healthy and safe services. As part of the signed agreements, the company will also provide all the industrial estates with a standardis­ed Computer Maintenanc­e Management System which will include a call centre and a 24/7 hotline maintenanc­e telephone number for all PEIE tenants.

Engineer Musallam al Hudaifi, Director General of Shumookh Investment & Services SAOC, said, "Signing the agreement represents the keen of the Public Establishm­ent for Industrial Estates to keep and maintain all the facilities of its industrial estates capably and efficientl­y. Besides, the agreement will also help PEIE to boost its services and further provide suitable investment environmen­t for investors and businessme­n amidst the rapid growth of the industrial estates in the Sultanate."

Al Hudaifi expressed his confidence in the company's high performanc­e and efficient operations. He pointed out that COMO would be a significan­t asset that would help sustain the high-level of service of the Public Establishm­ent for Industrial Estates and Shumookh Investment & Services Company.
