Oman to take part in third T20 Gulf Cup

MUSCAT — The Muscat Pharmacy & Stores LLC and Khimji Ramdas co-sponsored Omani national team will leave for the UAE tomorrow to participate in the third T20 Gulf Cup 2012 scheduled to be held at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium from June 14 to 16.

The team will be led by H H Qais Khalid Qais al Said. The of cials accompanying the team are Dad Mohammed al Balushi (Manager), ACC Level III quali ed coach Ikhtiar Kazmi will be the coach whilst Mohammed Anwar Mahrab will be his assistant.

The Omani team who were winners of the rst Gulf Cup and runner-up in the second Gulf Cup will play in the inau- gural match against the Kuwait nationals team commencing at 6.30 pm on Thursday, followed by the match against Saudi national at 9.30 pm on Friday and the last match against UAE national team on Saturday commencing at 9.30 pm.

Unlike in the past two editions where a nal was played between the two top teams in the league stage. The tournament winner this year will be awarded to the team that tops the league. If two teams end up on equal points, the winner will be decided by the head to head clash. .
