HM receives credential­s

MANAH — His Majesty Sultan Qaboos received separately at Hisn Ash’shumookh in the Wilayat of Manah yesterday the credential­s of six ambassador­s of France, Sudan, Germany, Mauritania, Italy and the United States to the Sultanate.

His Majesty received the credential­s of Yves Oudin, Ambassador of France to the Sultanate; Awadh Mohammed Ahmed Ibn Ouf, extraordin­ary Ambassador of Sudan to the Sultanate; Hans- Christian Freiherr von Reibnitz, Ambassador of Germany to the Sultanate; Jabra Bakari, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the Sultanate; Paula Amadi, Ambassador of Italy to the Sultanate, and Greta Holtz, Ambassador of the United States to the Sultanate.

During side meetings with His Majesty the Sultan, the ambassador­s conveyed greetings of the leaders of their respective countries, along with their best wishes of good health, happiness and a long life to His Majesty the Sultan. They also conveyed the leaders’ wishes of progress and prosperity to the Omani people under the wise leadership of His Majesty.

The ambassador­s said they were delighted to present their credential­s before His Majesty the Sultan. They affirmed that they would do their best to develop relations of their countries with the Sultanate in various spheres in a bid to serve joint interests of the people of Oman and their respective countries.

His Majesty the Sultan welcomed the ambassador­s. He thanked President Francois Hollande of France, Pres- ident Omar Ahmed al Bashir of Sudan, President Joachim Gauck of Germany, President Mohammed Ould Abdel Aziz of Mauritania, President Giorgio Napolitano of Italy and President Barak Obama of the United States for their greetings and best wishes.

His Majesty the Sultan affirmed to the ambassador­s that they would receive all support from him and the Omani government and people to facilitate their mission in the Sultanate.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, the Minister Responsibl­e for Foreign Affairs, the Head of Royal Protocols, the Commander of the Royal Guard of Oman and the Military Aides of His Majesty the Sultan. —ONA
