Oman Air to host IAAIA conference

MUSCAT — Oman Air is hosting the 21st Annual Conference of the Internatio­nal Associatio­n of Airline Internal Auditors (IAAIA).

The IAAIA Annual Conference will be held at the luxurious Shangri-La Bar al Jissah Resort and Spa in Muscat from October 14 - 17.

The Conference Inaugural function will be held on October 15, under the auspices of Shaikh Nasser bin Hilal al Mawali, Chairman of the State Audit Institutio­n, in the presence of high-ranking of cials from both the public and the private sectors.

Mohammed al Musa r, Chief Of cer Internal Audit, Oman Air and Chairman of the IAAIA 21st Annual Conference, commented: “It is with great pride that Oman Air is hosting this conference of the Internatio­nal Associatio­n of Airline Internal Auditors. This is a highly specialise­d area of Internal Auditing which plays a vital role in the success of the internatio­nal aviation and transporta­tion industry. Since 1991, the Annual Conference has become the key event for profession­als from around the world to network, share experience­s and discuss best practices.

The IAAIA is the only voluntary, non-pro t organisati­on serving the aviation industry’s audit community and comprises of over sixty member airlines from around the world. Forty-two of those member airlines will be represente­d at the event by around hundred delegates, who will enjoy the presentati­ons and insights of a range of highly-respected industry experts.

The conference comes at a time when the airline’s key managers are taking an increasing­ly high pro le role in a number of leading profession­al organisati­ons.

In addition to Mohammed al Musa r’s Chairmansh­ip of the IAAIA 21st Annual Conference, Oman Air’s General Manager, In ight Services, Linda Celestino, was recently elected as President of the Airline Passenger Experience Associatio­n (APEX) and these two prestigiou­s roles re ect not only the post-holders’ internatio­nally-recognised expertise, but also Oman Air’s increasing prominence as an internatio­nal carrier of the highest quality.
