OMSB awarded ISO certification
MUSCAT: Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB) on Monday organised a ceremony to celebrate getting the ISO certificate 9001:2008. The ceremony was held at OMSB headquarters under the patronage of Dr Hilal bin Ali al Sabti, CEO of OMSB, in the presence of the CEO of Turkish Specifications and Measurement Company accredited by the international ISO organisation for the issuance of accreditation and quality certificates for outstanding institutions that meet the standards required for ISO certification.
Dr Al Sabti in his speech praised the staff of OMBS for their efforts that are resulted in this global award, noting that OMSB seeks since its inception quality. He added that to obtain a certificate of quality ISO 9001:2008 is a great achievement for OMSB, which is the fruit of all efforts and it is certain evidence of the board’s commitment to continuous improvement of standards in various administrative, technical and academic fields in order to provide better services to all beneficiaries of its services.
It reflects the role of OMSB in raising the level of its staff and develop their own abilities, through the activities of continuing education and training, he added.
Dr Ahmed bin Salim al Mandhari, Senior Family Medicine and Community Consultant and Director General of Quality Assurance Centre at the Ministry of Health, said that the success of OMSB is among the successes achieved by the board in the training of doctors in various medical specialities, adding that ISO certificate will contribute to the improvement of the performance and quality in various academic and administrative areas at OMSB.
