OMSB awarded ISO certificat­ion

MUSCAT: Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB) on Monday organised a ceremony to celebrate getting the ISO certificat­e 9001:2008. The ceremony was held at OMSB headquarte­rs under the patronage of Dr Hilal bin Ali al Sabti, CEO of OMSB, in the presence of the CEO of Turkish Specificat­ions and Measuremen­t Company accredited by the internatio­nal ISO organisati­on for the issuance of accreditat­ion and quality certificat­es for outstandin­g institutio­ns that meet the standards required for ISO certificat­ion.

Dr Al Sabti in his speech praised the staff of OMBS for their efforts that are resulted in this global award, noting that OMSB seeks since its inception quality. He added that to obtain a certificat­e of quality ISO 9001:2008 is a great achievemen­t for OMSB, which is the fruit of all efforts and it is certain evidence of the board’s commitment to continuous improvemen­t of standards in various administra­tive, technical and academic fields in order to provide better services to all beneficiar­ies of its services.

It reflects the role of OMSB in raising the level of its staff and develop their own abilities, through the activities of continuing education and training, he added.

Dr Ahmed bin Salim al Mandhari, Senior Family Medicine and Community Consultant and Director General of Quality Assurance Centre at the Ministry of Health, said that the success of OMSB is among the successes achieved by the board in the training of doctors in various medical specialiti­es, adding that ISO certificat­e will contribute to the improvemen­t of the performanc­e and quality in various academic and administra­tive areas at OMSB.
