Sayyid Fahd performs Eid al Adha prayers
UNITED IN PRAYER: A number of Royal Family members, ministers, advisers and prominent figures participate
MUSCAT: The Sultanate on Thursday celebrated the first day of the blessed Eid al Adha, where His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, performed Eid al Adha prayers at Al Khour Mosque in Muscat on Thursday.
HH Fahd was accompanied during the Eid prayers by a number of Royal Family members, ministers, advisers and prominent figures. Shaikh Dr Ishaq bin Ahmed al Busaidi, Chairman of the Supreme Court and Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Judiciary Council, who led the Eid prayers, began the Eid sermon (Khutbah) with Takbir (exclaiming God is Great), glorifying and thanking Allah the Almighty for his many blessings.
The Eid sermon touched on the sacrifices of good believers at Haj rituals and the scene, which displays the unity of the Muslims in Arafat. It also called for unity of the Umma’s (nations) starting from the family and adopting moderation. It also covered the stability, security and safety enjoyed by our dear country.
He also said that the 10th of Dhul Hijjah is one of the blessed days that have its unique status in Islam. Allah Almighty has sworn with these days due to their greatness.
Shaikh Dr Ishaq bin Ahmed al Busaidi affirmed that the unity of the ranks, having consensus and discard of fanaticism are among the main aims of Islam. The unity of the work for this nation starts from the Muslim family, therefore we should take care of the family. Allah has also warned us against ignoring the rights of our relatives and considered it as punishable corruption of earth.
He also added that the Islamic Sharia has been known for its moderation in everything without any exaggeration or deviation. He also pointed out that the affairs of the nation as a whole are based on maintaining justice and equality principle.
He also pointed out that the nation’s stability and social solidarity are among the great blessings of Allah and that stability ensures further progress and welfare for everyone. He stressed the importance of preserving this by following the noble values.
At the end of his sermon, he called upon everyone to seize the opportunity of Eid and visit their relatives and promote understanding.
After the Eid prayers, Sayyid Fahd received the well-wishers on this occasion. They expressed their best wishes to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, praying to Allah the Almighty to grant His Majesty continuous good health, happiness and a long life.
Sayyid Fahd thanked all well-wishers, wishing them a blessed and happy Eid. He prayed to Allah for the return of this happy occasion and similar other occasions on His Majesty the Sultan with blessings and well-being, praying for his success for the good of this dear country and to achieve further progress and stability for Oman and its people under his prosperous reign. — ONA
