FAZAYAH BEACH

Scintillating

- KAUSHALENDRA SINGH

The mystical five kilometres of Fazayah beach is scintillating, as it wakes up the human senses, attracts, holds and does not let anyone go easily from the surroundings. Hidden from the street, a huge mountain in front serves as a natural wall for the beach visitors, offering them perfect privacy for camping or spending a lazy day in the lap of nature.

Some 80 km from Salalah, the beach never allows a visitor to explore everything in one visit. It keeps on reminding him to come again, indulge and forget everything but the surroundings that the beach has to offer.

An expatriate from South Africa Mientjie Mulder, puts it as “A little paradise and by far the best camping place in Oman.” Fazayah is her perfect camping destination and any given opportunity she along with her family of two daughters and husband would go camping on the beach. She is in Salalah for the last eight years and has decided to make this a home away from home.

Her daughter Jo-Marie,Jo Marie, who is an equestrian, swimmer, biker and pet lover is equally in love with Fazayah. “I love the outdoors and all around Salalah there are beautiful and interesting places. We go camping at Fazayah beach at least once in a month. The view of the mountain in the back with a clear ocean in the front makes the place so amazing that you do not feel like coming back,” she says.

Similar is the case with Alex Celini of UK, who has fallen in love with Oman’s natural beauty and tranquillity in Salalah. Her husband’s work brought her to Salalah and her favourite picnic spot is Fazayah beach, which is “just stunning,” according to her. She loves lazing at the beach, watching the dolphins and swimming.

“A must see tourist spot in the Sultanate,” Awad Sadoni calls Fazayah a photographer’s delight. He feels like clicking, clicking and continuously clicking yet not satisfied for the best click from his professional camera, which hee carriescarrie all the time due to his love for r photography.photo

AnissaAn Kirch, Operations andd CommercialComm Manager, National Tours, , finds the place very popular amongg the touriststo from Germany. “They lovee it becausebe it’s pure, untouched and d incrediblyincre natural,” she says.

ForFo Anissa, “It’s like a James Bond movie...mov you can imagine James BondBon running away on the top from m his enemies jumping down withh a parachute, landing in the sand, runningru to his jet ski escaping to theth next island while Halle Berry is comingc out of the water!”

“It is a mix of beautiful sandy beaches in between all the fallen down rocks in front of the massive mountain wall and hidden from the street. And not many places like this is left worldwide as most of themt got destroyed through human hands in the name of development,” she says while advocating for keeping its naturalnatur beauty intact.
