A record of glorious and prosperous years
History of nations has been made with the sacrifice of people’s time, efforts and life, of course. What our ancestors have achieved is history, what we are doing now is present while what our children and grandchildren will do that would be called future. Just imagine how history of humanity is being made and then passed from generation to another. All of this is a national inheritance and legacy which everyone is responsible for preserving and handing to the new generations to come.
All aspects of luxury life which we are enjoying today and thousands of current achievements accomplished and others to come are all an outcome of great efforts led by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, the visionary leader with a far-reaching mission. He dedicated his time and efforts for the sake of ensuring a better future for all Omanis. He left no stone unturned just to make our life prosperous, striving hard to bring a decent lifestyle to all regardless of age or gender.
Since his first day when ascended the throne, he made the first promise to his fellow citizens: “My people, I will proceed as quickly as possible to transform your life into a prosperous one with a bright future. Every one of you must play his part towards this goal. Our country in the past was famous and strong. If we work in unity and cooperation, we will regenerate that glorious past and we will take a respectable place in the world.” It wasn’t an easy promise I can assure you, but he was a man on a mission to make Oman a peaceful haven not only for Omanis, but for the whole world.
True, Oman today is a worldwide destination of peace for every human being in the universe. This has been proven by governments of countries, international organisations and individuals too. Nobody can deny the fact that Oman has become a world-class destination of peace, surpassing all the standards and expectations. Oman’s internationally renowned outstanding reputation has been made over a record timeline through the rapid progress achieved and the remarkable initiatives that served the international peace process in addition to other great records on the local, regional and international fronts.
The story of Oman being an internationally distinguished country ruled by an ex- emplary leader, His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, started on July 23, 1970. On this day, His Majesty with His wise leadership started the Omani Blessed Renaissance by which all Omanis saw the light of a brighter future at the end of the tunnel. Once it kicked off, the darkness which people had experienced before the 70s disappeared as the Blessed Renaissance touched each and every single corner of the land. As His Majesty stated: “My people, my brothers, yesterday it was complete darkness and with the help of God, tomorrow will be a new dawn on Muscat, Oman and its people”.
Over the past 46 years of the Blessed Renaissance, Oman has totally and distinguishably changed to become a modern country while preserving the unique culture, genuine heritage and unparalleled history which all remained untouched. This is what makes Oman being the artistic secret of Arabia spellbinding visitors and tourists from all over the world unlike other countries in the region. However, the 1970 was the onset of the facelift witnessed in the country, but the matchless and commendable ingenuity of Oman and its people will never change.
No matter what or how much we say, that is not even enough to thank His Majesty Sultan Qaboos for whatever he has done and still doing not only for his fellow citizens, but residents and visitors of Oman as well as millions of people around the world.
