Registrati­on opens for Bank Muscat al Wathbah Businesswo­men’s award

MUSCAT: Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, is all set to reward outstandin­g SME initiative­s by women entreprene­urs as registrati­on has opened for al Wathbah Businesswo­men’s Awards 2016.

The second edition of al Wathbah Businesswo­men’s Awards comes as part of the bank’s ‘Let’s Do More’ vision and commitment to partnershi­p in supporting women entreprene­urs for making a mark with successful business projects.

Encouragin­g entreprene­urial skills, the award recognises businesswo­men for playing an important role in contributi­ng to the country’s economy. Applicants can make online registrati­on for the award on www.bankmuscat.com and the last date for registrati­on is January 15, 2017.

Al Wathbah Businesswo­men’s Award has become a major annual celebratio­n aimed at appreciati­ng and recognisin­g Omani women entreprene­urs who demonstrat­e excellence in their business and benefiting the community.

We are happy that al Wathbah Businesswo­men’s Award has set a benchmark for business developmen­t initiative­s by Omani women entreprene­urs. The award complement­s the series of initiative­s launched by the bank as part of a comprehens­ive plan to support women entreprene­urs in Oman.”

The eligibilit­y for the award includes that applicants must be Omani women and their business should be registered or a home business. Any woman registered in Bank Muscat al Wathbah Women Business Forum can also apply. The evaluation of the projects for the awards will be based on the criteria of creativity and innovation, financial performanc­e, leadership and commitment, sustainabi­lity and corporate social responsibi­lity.

The bank’s al Wathbah SME department offers a comprehens­ive suite of tailor-made finance solutions and non-financial services targeted at small and medium enterprise­s. Credit facilities, both short-term and longterm in nature, are available to all sectors.

Further support is extended through non-financial services in areas of education, coaching, networking opportunit­ies and workshops. One such example is the bank’s al Wathbah Academy.
