EGYPT, POLAND IN 1-1 DRAW

ETuesday. Luczak Mateusz put Poland ahead in the 48th minute after a goalless first half.

However, Egypt team, which enjoyed good support at the stadium, levelled through Ahmed El Sheikh in the 69th minute.

Egypt’s Hossam Ashour received a yellow card.

Both the teams failed to take advantage of several opportunit­ies that came their way to end the Group D match at 1-1.

In a Group C match at the ROP Stadium Wattayah, Ireland were held by Mali 1-1. Mark Hogan put Ireland in lead the 17th minute. Mali hit the in gypt and Poland shared points with a 1-1 draw in the CISM World Cup match at the Seeb Sports Stadium on equaliser at the stroke of first half when Amadou Diallo found the target. Both the teams could not break the deadlock in the first half though there were chances aplenty.

In the late match on Monday, North Korea blanked Iran 2-0 in Group B. Il Bom An (46th minute) and Hyon Uk So (84th minute) were the scorers.

On Wednesday, hosts Oman will take on Bahrain in Group B match at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex (SQSC) in Bausher.

The match is expected to be a keen tussle as Oman are on a high with a 5-0 win in the opening match against Guinea. Bahrain come after a tough 1-0 win over France in their first match. The kickoff is at 8 pm.

In other matches, France take on Guinea at SQSC in Group A (5 pm).

At the ROP Stadium in Wattayah, Algeria clash with Iran at (5pm) and North Korea take on Germany at 8 pm in Group B.
