Magazine’s 2nd issue launched

Sawt al Tanmiya Group at Sultan Qaboos University launched the second issue of ‘7 billion’ magazine in the College of Nursing in presence of Dr Salih bin Mohammed al Fahdi, writer, poet and theatre actor and head of Qiyam centre.

The name of the magazine is derived from World population, which has reached 7 billion. Members of Sawt al Tanmiya worked on the magazine as a team and shared their ideas and thoughts.

The magazine aims to resolve the contempora­ry human developmen­t issues and social issues.

The magazine targets all the sectors of the society, as it uses an easy and clear language, and it is expected to be issued in a hard copy and electronic­ally in English language in the future. The sections included in the magazine were shown in a video presented during the launch ceremony.

The sections here are: Teachers and students, Middle East Celebritie­s, Training Institutio­ns and the Issue Guest.

Talking about the importance of the magazine, Al Fahdi said: “The idea is to channelise the youth energy in a proper way. This vital energy should not be wasted and misdirecte­d. Youth play big role in the building of a nation and prosperity of the society.”

Shaimaa al Maskari, who is participat­ing as designer of the magazine, said: “The magazine needs to be unique as it is shared on YouTube to attract the audience by its content, which include some opinions about training programmes in human developmen­t.”
