OEPPA seminar on work environment held
The Studies and Research Centre (SRC) of Oman Establishment for Press, Publication and Advertising (OEPPA) on Monday organised a seminar under the title ‘Work Environments, Performance and Incentives’ at the premises of OEPPA in Madinat Al Ilam in the presence of Saif bin Saud al Mahrouqi, Acting CEO of OEPPA, and Editor-In-Chief of Oman newspaper.
The seminar was attended by a number of Omani researchers whose working papers focused on work-related topics such as incentivisation, work environment, creating employee loyalty, exploitation of technology for improving the work environment.
Mirvat bint Abdulaziz al Oraimiyah, Director of SRC delivered the keynote speech in which she welcomed the attendees. She said that the seminar is aimed at creating a state of loyalty and a sense of belonging in the employees towards their establishments by applying a multitude of administrative patterns in terms of decision-making, highlighting the role of incentivisation and encouragement, identifying the standards of distinguished performance, training the employees and creating opportunities for selfdevelopment, laying down systems for assessment and incentivisation, applying various leadership patterns, laying down rules to enable the new leaders to achieve their goals and nurturing ethical leadership.
The seminar witnessed two working papers the first of which was presented by Tawfiq bin Husain al Lawati, member of Majlis Ash’shura titled ‘Work environment and employee loyalty’.
Dr Ramin bin Ibrahim al Muhajir, Adviser to the CEO for development and performance management at Information Technology Authority (ITA) presented a working paper that dealt with the role of the senior management in developing the work environment and how a healthy work environment is needed particularly by the millennial generation.
