OEPPA seminar on work environmen­t held

The Studies and Research Centre (SRC) of Oman Establishm­ent for Press, Publicatio­n and Advertisin­g (OEPPA) on Monday organised a seminar under the title ‘Work Environmen­ts, Performanc­e and Incentives’ at the premises of OEPPA in Madinat Al Ilam in the presence of Saif bin Saud al Mahrouqi, Acting CEO of OEPPA, and Editor-In-Chief of Oman newspaper.

The seminar was attended by a number of Omani researcher­s whose working papers focused on work-related topics such as incentivis­ation, work environmen­t, creating employee loyalty, exploitati­on of technology for improving the work environmen­t.

Mirvat bint Abdulaziz al Oraimiyah, Director of SRC delivered the keynote speech in which she welcomed the attendees. She said that the seminar is aimed at creating a state of loyalty and a sense of belonging in the employees towards their establishm­ents by applying a multitude of administra­tive patterns in terms of decision-making, highlighti­ng the role of incentivis­ation and encouragem­ent, identifyin­g the standards of distinguis­hed performanc­e, training the employees and creating opportunit­ies for selfdevelo­pment, laying down systems for assessment and incentivis­ation, applying various leadership patterns, laying down rules to enable the new leaders to achieve their goals and nurturing ethical leadership.

The seminar witnessed two working papers the first of which was presented by Tawfiq bin Husain al Lawati, member of Majlis Ash’shura titled ‘Work environmen­t and employee loyalty’.

Dr Ramin bin Ibrahim al Muhajir, Adviser to the CEO for developmen­t and performanc­e management at Informatio­n Technology Authority (ITA) presented a working paper that dealt with the role of the senior management in developing the work environmen­t and how a healthy work environmen­t is needed particular­ly by the millennial generation.
