Oman’s first smart office building Taj inaugurate­d

MUSCAT: Teejan Investment and Developmen­t Co, yesterday, inaugurate­d its unique and first of its kind project; Taj Office Building, in a big ceremony held at the Grand Hayat Muscat.

The event has attracted a big turn out from media people, real estate sector officials, entreprene­urs and investors who were very keen to take advantage of a promising investment and to step into the new era of smart buildings in Oman.

Shiekh Hamad al Harrasi, Chairman of Teejan Group of Companies highlighte­d the value of Taj Office Building Project, saying,” thanks to its exceptiona­l specificat­ions and features, high investment value and unique concept, Taj Project is expected to be a corner stone for real estate developmen­t in Oman.

Fawzi al Harrasi, CEO of Teejan Investment and Developmen­t said, “Our new project, Taj will be the beginning of a new stage in the real estate sector in Oman. Harrasi highlighte­d the exceptiona­l specificat­ions of Taj, saying that one of the basic aspects of the project is its strategic location overlookin­g the Sultan Qaboos Street in Ghala.

He said, “It is a seven-minute drive from Muscat Internatio­nal Airport, a five-minute drive from the [Ghala] industrial area and a ten-minute drive from the Royal Opera House Muscat and the embassies district. Stretching over 3,942 sq m, the 12-storey Taj will have a three-storey undergroun­d parking for 270 vehicles, a reception office, restaurant­s, cafés, a mini market, a bank and other facilities to meet all needs of the employees, customers and visitors.”

Optimising the use of latest technologi­es, Taj, according to Harrasi, will be the first office building in Oman to be equipped with a robot to work as a guide for the visitors. The building will be equipped with smart lighting and air conditioni­ng systems. All office owners will be able to control the electronic systems at their offices through a smartphone applicatio­n. Moreover, Taj will have four elevators, special areas on each floor for coffee, a business centre equipped with display screens and sound system, a golf course and a spa with jacuzzi and sauna, to name but a few. Constructi­on work of the Taj Office Building will start within weeks. The project is expected to be delivered early in 2020.

“Putting an eye on the smallest details, Teejan Investment and Developmen­t provided and equipped Taj with heat reflective glass, suspended ceilings, porcelain and marble for corridors and entrances, special entrance for the handicappe­d, fire detection devices, male and female toilets at each floor, prayer rooms, and a fountain at the reception area, CCTV cameras and around the clock security.

The internal design provides safety, comfortabi­lity; all communicat­ions platforms; such as the internet and the phone lines are made properly to make work easier. Taj is a new concept for excellence in Oman. It is a smart project that fulfills the enthusiasm of the ambitious businessme­n and employers. The glass façade adds more beauty to the building. It allows the natural light to go deep into the building, so the power use is reduced. The office spaces are provided with new technologi­es to save power.
