Korean Ambassador visits PEIE to boost ties

With the aim of boosting relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Korea, Doho Kang, Korean Ambassador to the Sultanate, yesterday visited the headquarte­rs of the Public Establishm­ent for Industrial Estates (PEIE) at the Knowledge Oasis Muscat.

The Korean ambassador was received by Hilal bin Hamad al Hasani, CEO of PEIE, who briefed the ambassador on the vision, mission and objectives of the Public Establishm­ent for Industrial Estates.

Al Hasani highlighte­d the various industrial estates that fall under the umbrella of PEIE throughout the Sultanate in addition to the Knowledge Oasis Muscat and Al Mazunah Free Zone.

Al Hasani underscore­d the vision of PEIE, which is to enhance the Sultanate’s position as a leading regional centre of manufactur­ing, ICT, innovation and entreprene­urship excellence, and its mission in attracting industrial investment­s and providing continued support, through regionally and globally competitiv­e strategies, good infrastruc­ture, value adding services, and easy government­al processes.

The ambassador was also acquainted with the objectives of PEIE, which include attracting foreign investment­s to the Sultanate and localising the national capital, stimulatin­g the role of the private sector in supporting sustainabl­e economic and social developmen­t, contributi­ng to job creation, encouragin­g exports and the establishm­ent of export industries, increasing the market share of locally manufactur­ed products.
