Knowledge Oman’s book review initiative attracts quality crowd

MUSCAT: Knowledge Oman, the leading community knowledge sharing platform in the Sultanate, recently conducted its maiden book review initiative aimed at bringing book lovers under one roof and promoting book reading in the society. The event was held at the artirum area of the Panorama Mall and has attracted quality crowd from the society.

“Be a lifelong student, read as many books as possible.” Nelson Mandela. That was the keyword opening speech of Knowledge Oman Vice President, Balqees Al Hassani who ignited the session with a powerful introducto­ry speech.

Balqees briefly presented Knowledge Oman journey across the years and specifical­ly spoke about the objective of the book review initiative which was launched specifical­ly to promote book reading in the society.

The event which took place at Panorama Mall in the evening continues to meet with strong and great success.

Indeed and during an hour’s time a significan­t number of participan­ts have discussed with Tushar Vakil, the Book Review Manager, the principal ideas of the New York Times best seller book entitled “The power of habit” by Charles-Duhigg.

By this initiative, Knowledge Oman, is not only promoting the love of reading but it is about reconcilin­g a whole generation with reading. The KO Book Review initiative will continue to run every month inviting book lovers as guests from the society to share their learnings to the society.

Establishe­d in April 2008, Knowledge Oman continues to create programmes and events free for society to learn, engage and exchange knowledge in addition to hosting profession­als from various background­s, gender, age groups and nationalit­ies living in the Sultanate under one roof to support the developmen­t of a knowledge based society.
