Al Mouj Marina gets Five Gold Anchor status

AL Mouj Marina, Oman’s premier marina facility, has been awarded five Gold Anchors by The Yacht Harbour Associatio­n (TYHA) making it one of only four marinas in the Gulf to join this exclusive group.

The 124-berth facility marina, located at the heart of Oman’s lifestyle destinatio­n, Al Mouj Muscat, won the prestigiou­s certificat­ion for attributes including good customer service, giving value for money at all levels of accreditat­ion and achieving recognised industry standards. The Gold Anchor Award Scheme, establishe­d by TYHA almost 25 years ago, has been assessing marinas throughout the world and is considered as a reliable evaluator of marina quality. TYHA awards upwards of five Gold Anchors to marinas that voluntaril­y undergo a series of rigorous tests including a marina audit, mystery shoppers and customer questionna­ires. More than 130 marinas in nearly two dozen countries have participat­ed in the Gold Anchor Award Scheme.

The ceremony started with a welcome speech delivered by Professor Ahmed al Naamany, the Dean of the Modern College of Business and Science. He shared a brief history of the college and pointed out how, since its inception and for over 20 years, MCBS has been providing quality education based on high academic standards and studentcen­tred learning. Sharing the vision of MCBS to be ‘A prominent institutio­n in the region’, he added that the college is well-known for empowering students to be competitiv­e in the labour market and for keeping pace with contempora­ry global and business trends. Accordingl­y, realising the immense importance played by an effective public sector for the economic and social developmen­t of a country, MCBS is launching a new Master’s Degree Programme in Public Administra­tion. This programme is offered in the Arabic language as the medium of instructio­n in order to facilitate the learning process and acquisitio­n of required skills and competenci­es for a larger group of applicants.
