Airport Exchange Conference participan­ts thank HM

MUSCAT: Participan­ts of the 11th ACI Airport Exchange 2017 Conference and Exhibition have sent a cable of thanks and gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos.

They expressed their sincere thanks and appreciati­on for the warm welcome and generous hospitalit­y, facilities and potentials, which enabled the conference to achieve its goals, represente­d in finding solutions for the challenges facing airports management sector, developing mechanisms to strengthen ties of investment and economic partnershi­p among airports around the world.

They also valued the Omani leading stances in supporting civil aviation sector in the region and the world. They appreciate­d His Majesty’s stances in enhancing bonds of global peace, upon which the Airport Council Internatio­nal (ACI) is based. ACI includes membership of more than 1,800 airports around the world.

The participan­ts of the conference also expressed their happiness to view the developmen­t renaissanc­e made in the Sultanate under the prosperous reign of His Majesty. They affirmed that such achievemen­ts make the Sultanate of Oman a new regional centre to host major internatio­nal events and activities.

The participan­ts concluded their cable by praying to Allah the Almighty to perpetuate blessings of health and well-being on His Majesty the Sultan, and the Sultanate further progress and prosperity.

The two-day conference was hosted by the Sultanate, represente­d by Oman Airports Management Company (OAMC) at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre with the participat­ion of 48 countries.

The 11th ACI Airport Exchange 2017 Conference and Exhibition concluded on Thursday. A series of specialise­d workshops and discussion sessions were held on the concluding day, during which more than 120 speakers submitted a range of papers focusing on the conference’s subthemes, namely ‘Security and Crisis Management Summit, Airport Operations Conference, Digital Innovation and Big Data, Airport Developmen­t Conference’.

The conference and its associatin­g exhibition witnessed a large presence of over 1,500 participan­ts from 48 countries around the world.

Fifty local and internatio­nal exhibitors took part in the exhibition. They reviewed the latest technologi­es in the world of civil aviation and management of airports and related sectors.
