Dentons, Oxy Oman sponsor relaunch of AIPN Oman ME chapter
MUSCAT: At a high profile event, BankDhofar announced the winners of its innovative and first-of-its-kind competition ‘ BD TechMind’. Held at Sheraton Hotel on December 17, three innovative ideas gleamed at ‘BD TechMind’ winners’ announcement event.
‘Little Fund’ was the first place winning idea with RO 5,000, which an idea is aiming at making borrowing easier, through adopting latest technologies. ‘Paylink’ idea took the second place prize, RO 3,000. It is a new interacting payment and fund transfer platform and smart solutions for various banking transactions. The third-place RO 2,000 winning idea was ‘SkyCheque’, which is an easier system to verify cheques.
In his welcome speech at the event, Abdul Hakeem Omar al Ojaili, CEO of BankDhofar said, “We are moving towards a digitalised world, and it is crucial to provide fast and instant services. In line with our future smart banking vision, we launched “BD TechMind” competition. All the ideas received were outstanding, which tells us that we are heading towards a promising smart future, be it in the banking sector or any other sectors which serve the national economy.” THE 2018 Hyundai Ioniq, Hyundai Motor’s innovative model that offers three electrified powertrains, earned the Women’s World Car of the Year Supreme Award — the top prize given by the all-female jury comprised of respected international automotive journalists. The event, sponsored by Dentons and Occidental of Oman (Oxy Oman), was presented by Isam bin Saud al Zadjali, CEO, Oman Oil Company, Dave Campbell, COO and VP Operations, BP Oman and Humphrey Douglas, Partner, Dentons. The Oil and Gas specialists gave an overview of the Oman oil sector and discussed recent developments in unconventional gas projects and the future of joint operating agreements.
