Mastermind behind Iran attack killed
TEHRAN: The suspected mastermind behind the deadly attack on a military parade in Iran in September has been killed in Iraq, according to reports from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Abu Sahi, one of the leaders of the extremist militia group IS, was killed by “resistance units” along with four other suspected terrorists in Iraq’s eastern province Diyala, the IRGC told the Iranian news agency ISNA on Wednesday.
The attack took place on September 22 in the south-western city of Ahvaz, where a military parade was being held to commemorate the start of the Iran-iraq war in 1980.
