Business faculty students visit Orpic

MUSCAT: A group of 58 students and staff members of Sohar University visited Orpic on a study tour. The senior students pursuing Bachelors in Business Administra­tion were introduced to the public relations practices of Orpic.

External Relations Department head Saeed al Maamari and Markets and Logistics administra­tor Naeema al Zufaiti received the delegation of boys, girls and staff members of the faculty.

Having been briefed about safety aspects, the students were given an introducti­on to Orpic and its history using video and power point presentati­on. Daeij al Hosni, the head of security, briefed the students about the safety rules and procedures at Orpic. Naeema al Zufaiti and Saeed al Maamari gave the subject-specific talk, which was followed by an intensive question-answer session.

Course coordinato­r Dr Shweta moderated the session to make students understand the link between theory and practical components as it applies in maintainin­g external relations at Orpic.

“It was a very well-conceived study tour which helped the students learn PR practices in authentic reallife contexts,” said Nibras al Rashdi, the student council representa­tive of the university. Dr Rakesh Belwal, Amal al Badi and Khoula al Shibli also attended the event.
