Oman-china press forum starts in Beijing today
MUSCAT: The Omani-chinese Press Forum will kick off on Monday. The forum is organised by the Omani Journalists Association (OJA) in the Chinese capital Beijing till September 12 with the participation of about 40 journalists representing the various media means in the Sultanate, in addition to a number of economists and academics.
Salim bin Hamad al Jahwari, OJA Deputy Chairman said the forum, which is being held in cooperation with the Sultanate’s Embassy in Beijing, is a continuation of OJA approach to build bridges of cooperation, communication and exchange of experiences and meaningful dialogue between journalists and their counterparts in other countries. He added the forum will highlight the historic and economic relations between Oman and China over two thousand years and resulted in many strategic partnerships in various fields.
He pointed out that programme of the forum includes a symposium on “Omani-chinese Relations” in which a number of specialists and researchers in the historic, economic and media fields from both countries will participate through three specialized sessions. The first session will address “The History of Omanichinese Relations”, the second session will review ‘The Future of Omanichinese Relations,” while the third will focus on “Omani Media and its Role in Promoting Omani-chinese Relations”.
OJA Deputy Chairman said that the programme of the forum also includes the opening of a photo exhibition titled “Features from Oman” which will be held along with the Omani-chinese Press Forum in Beijing from September 10 to 12.
