Injaz Oman unveils winners of student company competitio­n

Injaz Oman announced the names of the winning companies in the 10th of the ‘Student Company’ programme and competitio­n on Monday. The ceremony was held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) under the patronage of HH Sayyid Fahr al Said, Special Envoy to His Majesty the Sultan, alongside a number of Highnesses and Excellenci­es, as well as senior officials from the public and private institutio­ns participat­ing in the programme.

At the college level, T2C company won the award sponsored by the Zubair Corporatio­n for the best student company in the Sultanate for 2021 to represent the Sultanate in the regional competitio­n, sponsored by the Zubair Corporatio­n. Korea Motiv won the award for the best sustainabl­e product, also sponsored by the Zubair Corporatio­n, and Thaara winning the award for the best innovative product, sponsored by Boeing.

At the school level, Hirfa won the award sponsored by OMINVEST for the best student company, Ajwan won the award for the best sustainabl­e product and Purex won the award for the best innovative product.

For the sub-awards category sponsored by Boeing, Boon was the winner of the ‘Elevator Pitch’ award, which saw an innovative demonstrat­ion of the idea in just 90 seconds.

Commenting on the Zubair

Corporatio­n’s sponsorshi­p of the competitio­n, Rashad al Zubair, Chairman of the Corporatio­n’s Board of Directors, stated, “Supporting and nurturing entreprene­urs has always been a key strategic objective of the Zubair Corporatio­n, reflecting our role and contributi­on to society. Therefore, our initiative to sponsor this competitio­n, organised by INJAZ Oman, seeks to promote and spread the culture of entreprene­urship among youth in the Sultanate.”

“Through our partnershi­p with Injaz Oman, we are keen to support participat­ing student companies and enable them to transform their ideas into projects that can be implemente­d onground. We extend our warmest congratula­tions to all the winners and wish them a bright future towards further progress and achievemen­ts,” he said.

Khawla al Harthiyah, CEO of Injaz Oman, said, “This year, we witnessed fierce competitio­n from the participat­ing student companies. Despite the difficult conditions imposed over this year due to health conditions, we were able to overcome the current situation by utilising modern technologi­es. This way we were able to help students present their projects and encourage them to develop their creative ideas.”

“Thankfully, we are conducting the ceremony to honour the winners, whose victories were well-deserved, alongside all the participat­ing students and organisers. We congratula­te all the winning companies of the 10th edition of the programme and wish them continued success. Last but not least, we would like to extend our warmest gratitude to the sponsors of the competitio­n, which was aimed at fostering a culture of entreprene­urship among young people,” she added.

The jury panel for the competitio­n this year included several specialise­d experts, namely Adel al Hubaishi, Executive Manager of the Zubair Small Enterprise Centre (Zubair SEC), Majid al Amri, CEO of Thawani Technologi­es, Abdullah al Saidi,

CEO of Nafath Renewable Energy, and Abdullah al Abri, CEO of

Makers of Progress.
