Ahd Foundation and volunteers from Omani Women Association marked Oman Women’s Day by offering relief to Shaheen stricken people of North and South Al Batinah. Believing firmly in the importance of social and humanitarian work, the Ahd Foundation’s aid convoy distributed essential supplies to women and children, reflecting the Foundations’ concern for society.

Her Highness, the honourable lady, is keen to activate the role of Omani women’s associations throughout the Sultanate by participating in the ‘Ahd Al Khair’ convoy. She affirmed that every hand is needed in times of crisis where the efforts of all sectors are essential.

The objective of the aid convoy was to provide women and children in the cyclone Shaheen affected areas to meet the basic requirements.

With an aim to cover all the affected wilayats, the convoy departed from Muscat Governorate on Sunday morning and continued through Wilayat Al Musannah in South Al Batinah, Wilayat Al Suwaiq, Al Khabourah and Saham in North Al Batinah

Governorate. It also covered Wilayat Ibri in Al Dhahirah Governorate.

The convoy had marked gathering points through which the staff of Ahd Foundation’s women representatives from Omani Women’s Associations, volunteers from different units of the Royal Court Affairs and civil associations, distributed items and supplies to the targeted groups of women and children in the affected wilayats.

Cyclone Shaheen had an immense impact across North Al Batinah as it made landfall in early October and brought a tropical cyclone in the region after more than 100 years.
