Event to mark National Day in Nizwa on Nov 26

To mark the 52nd National Day, the Ihsaan Associatio­n branch of the Al Dakhiliyah Governorat­e is organising ‘Joy of a Nation’ in Nizwa on November 26.

Many elderly people will take part in the events, which will be held in various landmarks of the Wilayat themed ‘Joy of a Nation.’

The aim is to highlight the ancient Omani heritage and enhance the preservati­on of traditiona­l crafts.

The role of the Ihsaan Associatio­n is to spread the culture of caring for the elderly and to consolidat­e the concept of community partnershi­p.

Apart from the traditiona­l National Day procession, other events include folk arts and music, cavalry show, bike shows, theatre, cultural competitio­ns and more.

It will also feature stalls of 52 artisans, Oman Women’s Associatio­n social security families, and Ihsaan Associatio­n.

Hamad bin Salim al Kindi, member of the supervisin­g committee, said: “The elderly are part of this nation.. This day is not just commemorat­ing the glorious National Day, but a day to renew the covenant and loyalty to the leader of this blessed renaissanc­e.” Mohammed bin Salim al Rashidi, another member, said: “This celebratio­n aims to consolidat­e the concept of a community partnershi­p and to spread the culture of interest in traditiona­l crafts. Ihsaan Associatio­n attaches great interest in the health, social and psychologi­cal aspects of the elderly. These events will enhance tourism in the governorat­e.”
