Ministries, institutio­ns celebrate National Day

MUSCAT: Ministries, government and private institutio­ns, universiti­es, sports and cultural clubs are celebratin­g the glorious 52nd National Day, organising different cultural, heritage and awareness festivitie­s.

THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH (MOH), represente­d by the Personnel Care Section, celebrated the 52nd National Day under the auspices of Dr Hilal bin Ali al Sabti, Minister of Health, at the MOH Headquarte­rs in Al Khuwair.

The celebratio­n started with the Royal Anthem, followed by a speech addressed by Dr Mohammed bin Saif al Hosni, MOH Under-secretary for Health Affairs, in which he pointed out the outstandin­g achievemen­ts in the health field since the blessed Renaissanc­e till today, praising the efforts of all workers providing the health, administra­tive and technical services.

During the celebratio­n, a number of national poems were recited.

THE MINISTRY EDUCATION

OF celebrated the 52nd National Day on Sunday under the auspices of Dr Madeeha bint Ahmed al Shaibaniya­h, Minister of Education.

The ceremony included display of several paragraphs embodying the love of the homeland and its sovereign His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. The student Saba al Fazari, who won the first place in memorising a thousand verses of poetry, presented a poem, followed by a performanc­e by students of Al Amal School for the Deaf. The student Azza al Harthi from Umm Qais Al Asadiya School presented a recitation of a poem titled “Heroes banner” followed by poetic operetta presented by Saba al Fazari, Sarah al Fazari, and Shaima al Fazari from Al Oyoun School in

North Al Sharqiyah. At the end of the ceremony, the students of Al Sarooj School for Basic Education presented a performanc­e. The celebratio­n featured songs by the scout band, and a performanc­e of Al Azi’s art.

On the sidelines of the celebratio­n, the Minister of Education, honoured outstandin­g students in a number of internatio­nal competitio­ns.

MUSANDAM NAVAL BASE

The Musandam Naval Base, represente­d by one of the ships of the Royal Navy of Oman, participat­ed in the celebratio­n of the 52nd glorious National Day in the village of Kumzar.
