Khazaen Dry Port joins A P Moller – Maersk’s ‘Ports of Call’ network

MUSCAT: Khazaen Dry Port, which was establishe­d in partnershi­p between Asyad and the private sector, announced that it joined A P Moller - Maersk’s (Maersk) extensive ‘Ports of Call’ network.

Joining global shipping lines, Khazaen Dry Port will further bolster its global position as an import, reexport and transshipm­ent centre as the country presses ahead to become one of the leading logistics hubs in the region.

Underlinin­g Asyad’s role as a market growth leader, this integratio­n is yet another step in the Group’s plan to improve efficiency and adopt higher standards across the logistics sector. Asyad complement­s these efforts by providing and facilitati­ng services that will enable local traders to effectivel­y expand their reach to global markets and attract higher volumes of trade to and through Oman.

Juma al Maskari, Executive Director of Khazaen Dry Port said, “By integratin­g Khazaen Dry Port within global shipping lines, including Maersk’s network, we are able to improve internatio­nal market accessibil­ity, facilitate trade and increase the flow of products and services to and from Oman at the touch of a button.

This integratio­n with a powerful global network facilitate­s business and trade for the private sector, providing them with operationa­l efficienci­es and cost optimisati­on by simply leveraging Maersk’s global routes to best suit their supply chains,” he added.

Khazaen Dry Port is strategica­lly located within easy reach of booming economies in the region, with close proximity to the Saudi-omani border, UAEOMAN border and Oman’s main ports. It is purposely designed and built over an area of 100,000 square metres. Khazaen Dry Port is a one-stop shop for custom clearance, inspection and handling and storage of containers, and cargo movement near Muscat.
