Holy Quran memorisation contest winners announced
MUSCAT: The Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science (SQHCCS) on Monday announced the winners of the 30th edition of Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition. The total number of contestants in the competition stood at 2,881.
In a press release, Habeeb bin Mohammed al Riyami, Head of SQHCCS said that the initial qualifiers, held in 25 centres across Oman’s governorates, saw strong competition.
The first level—the category of fully memorising the Holy Quran — was won by Faisal bin
Mohammed al Balushi from the centre of Suhar.
The second level — the category of memorising 24 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran — was won by Mohammed bin Said al Ghammari from the centre of Qurayat.
The third level — the category of memorising 18 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran — was won by Hajir bint Saleh al Kindiyah from the centre of Nizwa.
The fourth level — the category of memorising 12 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran — was won by Ahmed bin Saif al
Muqaimi from the centre of Al Khuwair.
The fifth level — the category of memorising 6 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran — was won by Sarah bint Yousef al Mehriziyah from the centre of Ibra.
The sixth level — the category of memorising 4 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran — was won by Tasneem bint Salim al Shibliyah from the centre of Ibra.
The seventh level — the category of memorising 2 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran — was won by Suhaib bin Hilal al Siyabi from the centre of Ibra.
