Muscat CT beat Renaissance; Oman Stallions thump Zawawi

-

Muscat CT beat Renaissance by 7 wickets and Oman Stallions thumped Zawawi Powertech by 7 wickets in the Premier Division of the Oman Cricket League 2022-23 powered by Muscat Pharmacy.

In gloomy and overcast conditions, Muscat CT elected to bowl first. Oman’s one of the profound batsmen making his comeback, Aqib Ilyas (61 off 57b; 6x4,1x6) steered the Renaissance batting but couldn’t find a support other than tailender Bilal Muhammed (29 off 46b; 3x4,1x6) who helped them post 190 all out in 46.3 overs.

Samay Shrivastav’s magical spell for his 6-20 was the key to restrict Renaissance.

In response, Muscat CT got off to a flying start by Aiyappa CR (56 off 66b; 6x4) and Kashyap

Prajapati (52 off 60b; 6x4) setting the tone for the chase.

Although due to rain interruptions, the target was reduced to 156 which was successfully chased down by Muscat CT in 31.5 overs. Bilal Muhammed (3-39) was the sole bowler to bag wickets for Renaissance. The win was Muscat

CT’S fifth of the season out of six games.

In another match, Powertech elected to bat first in overcast conditions against Oman Stallions.

The Stallions pacers made optimum use of the conditions and wreaked havoc in the Zawawi

Powertech batting not allowing them to stitch a partnership. Hemal Tandel (5-30) and Faisal Shah (3-15) were the key to the Stallions bowling unit bundling Zawawi Powertech down to just 84 in 29.2 overs. In reply, Oman Stallions chased down the target in 12.5 overs registering their fourth win in five games.
