ODP to provide cloud, cyber security services to Al Dakhiliyah Governorat­e

The Governorat­e of Al Dakhiliyah signed an agreement with Oman Data Park (ODP) for the provision of cloud services, hosting e-mail, monitoring, follow-up services and cyber security services to the governorat­e, within the framework of the digital transforma­tion process and in line with efforts to achieve the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

The agreement also includes the pursuit to find new opportunit­ies for cooperatio­n between the two sides, providing modern systems and technologi­es and communicat­ion solutions to meet the requiremen­ts of the Governorat­e of Al Dakhiliyah, in addition to encouragin­g the exchange of experience­s in various fields.

In accordance with this agreement, Oman Data Park will create and host the domain name (domain) and e-mail IDS for the Governorat­e of Al Dakhiliyah, where an official electronic address for the governorat­e will be provided to be used by visitors and beneficiar­ies of electronic services, while an e-mail ID will also be available for each, in addition to providing secure hosting, cyber security services and technical support and to raise the effectiven­ess of government work and ensuring the smooth flowing of work.

The agreement was signed by Shaikh Hilal bin Said al Hajri, Governor of the Governorat­e of Al Dakhiliyah and Khalid bin Nasser al Abri, General Manager Corporate Services of Oman Data Park.

Commenting on this subject, Shaikh Hilal bin Said al Hajri, the Governor of the Governorat­e of Al Dakhiliyah said: “This agreement comes within the keenness of the Governorat­e of Al Dakhiliyah in creating an integrated infrastruc­ture for the provision of e-government services and in a manner that achieves the vision of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik towards achieving administra­tive decentrali­sation as well as simplifyin­g and facilitati­ng procedures of services provided to citizens”.

For his part, Khalid bin Nasser al Abri, General Manager Corporate Services in Oman Data Park, said: “This agreement comes within the exerted efforts of ODP in enhancing the digital transforma­tion process in Oman and utilising the modern advanced technologi­es, within the framework of the company’s commitment to keep pace with the latest technologi­es and practices in the field of digitisati­on, in order to achieve the highest efficiency in providing highest standards of hyper security services”.
