Municipal Council discusses Nizwa beautification
Several infrastructure works including new projects were reviewed and discussed by the Municipal Council of Al Dakhiliyah Governorate chaired by Shaikh Hilal bin Said al Hajri, Governor of Al Dakhiliyah, on Tuesday.
It discussed the Nizwa entrance development project and looked into allocation of government plots for investment purposes.
The agenda included subjects related to developing healthcare, education and infrastructure services. The municipal sector, investments and urban planning were thoroughly reviewed and discussed, highlighting their direct impact on public welfare and the advancement of development plans in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.
Sulaiman bin Hamad al Sunaidi, Director-general of Al Dakhiliyah Municipality, said the first phase of the Nizwa entrance will provide space for recreation and exercise.
It will add more trees in the area. The project will include walking paths and cycle tracks.
During the meeting, the council reviewed the response of the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning on the request to shift the incinerator from the landfill in
Samayil.
The council also reviewed the statement of the Under-secretary Minister of Housing and Urban Planning on plots used for investment purposes based on a previous recommendation from the Municipal Council.
The council also reviewed the letter regarding the request to extend the Al Sharah Mosque area site and create another site for the council in Al Rasis area of Izki. It also reviewed the letter on surveyor work at Al Mirkadh area in Al Hamra and a proposal for a public park in Wadi Quriyat in Bahla.
The council also discussed the report issued by the Municipality Department Director of Samayil regarding determining roads and pavement of footpaths in the residential plans.
