- AMAL AL RIYAMI NIZWA, MARCH 31

Al Dakhiliyah Municipality introduced a groundbreaking concept that integrates the municipality with community service. The municipality marked a significant milestone as it unveiled the ‘Shi Aloum’ Whatsapp platform last week which connects citizens with municipalities to facilitate dialogue and improve services.

’Shi Aloum’ fulfils the long-awaited desires of citizens, enabling seamless communication with municipalities without delays or travel. With just a few tap on their smartphones via the Whatsapp application to the relevant municipality department, they can send their inquiries, complaints, and suggestions.

The platform assists in addressing inquiries regarding municipal services across various sectors, including public hygiene, health, technical affairs, inspection, lighting, landscaping, and more. They will receive quick and effective responses to achieve their goals and meet their needs.

The launch was held in the presence of the municipality’s general manager, officials, government and private institutions, civil society teams, charitable organisations, and clubs.

Attendees were briefed on various completed projects, including road paving, beautification, and service projects, as well as displays of markets, parks, and pedestrian projects across all wilayats of Al Dakhiliyah.

The inauguration also included a dialogue session to receive and discuss attendees’ comments and inquiries.

Engineer Sulaiman bin Hamad al Sunaidy, Director-general, Al Dakhiliyah Municipality, said: “Al Dakhiliyah Municipality is keen to create a link between the institution and the public by creating a space of transparency and credibility through a number of channels.

Through these platforms, we aim to increase the satisfaction rates of the beneficiaries of municipal services, in addition to extending the cooperation between the municipality and its affiliated departments in the governorate to ensure that transactions are completed accurately and quickly and procedures are facilitated for all citizens. This goal is essential for enhancing performance and ensuring the satisfaction of service beneficiaries, making it a crucial objective for all stakeholders to accomplish.
