-

The Higher Education Admission Centre (HEAC) at the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, has opened applications for admission to public and private higher education institutions as well as internal and external scholarships for the academic year 2024-2025, from April 1 to June 1.

Students of the general education diploma (GED) and its equivalent for the academic year 2023/2024 must register with the unified admission system on the website of the Higher Education Admission Centre (www.heac.gov.om) and choose the study programmes they wish to apply to.

The Higher Education Admission Centre has issued an updated student guide for admission to higher education institutions for the academic year 2024/2025 for holders of the general education diploma (GED) certificate and its equivalent. An electronic version of student guide is available on the website and social media networks accounts of the Higher

Education Admission Centre.

The HEAC advised students to read the guide carefully to get information about the conditions and procedures related to admission and registration, tips and instructions to students for the stages of registration and admission as well as information about the higher education institutions and scholarships and the programmes and disciplines available for contention.

The HEAC has raised the minimum gross income for a student’s guardian to RO 792 from RO 600 to enable a wider segment of students to compete in limited-income programmes. Besides, 1,000 academic seats have also been allocated for flexible internal scholarships which allows admitted students to directly choose from among the private higher education institutions in the Sultanate of Oman.
