TOURISTS FLOCK TO AL SHARQIYAH NORTH
The wilayats of Al Sharqiyah North Governorate witnessed large turnout of Eid al Fitr holiday makers from inside and outside Oman on Thursday.
Many visitors flocked to the trial opening of the zoo, the largest in Oman, in Ibra, which has more than 300 animals.
Wadi Bani Khalid also saw tourists and visitors who came to swim in its crystal clear emerald pools set amidst beautifully sculpted golden cliffs.
In Bidiya, people turned up for dune bashing in fourwheel vehicles and bikes.
The wilayats of Al Mudhaibi, Al Qabil, Dima W’attayeen and Sinaw saw hosting of horse and camel racing shows, traditional archery competitions and Omani traditional music shows.
A horse show was held in Ibra on Wednesday on the first day of Eid al Fitr. The event attracted many horse owners from the wilayats of Al Sharqiyah North Governorate.
The event included the riders displaying their skills in Ardha, which demonstrated the riders’ ability to control the horses and their speed while sitting and standing on horseback.
The event was accompanied by the presentation of Omani folks songs by artists.
During Eid al Fitr holidays, Ibra will witness the holding of many community events, which bring together members of the local community.
In the Wilayat of Nizwa in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, many events were held to mark Eid al Fitr.
During Eid in Nizwa wore vibrant colours and festive decorations.
People came out in their finest clothes, especially traditional Omani attire known for its colourful designs and intricate patterns that showcase Omani culture and heritage.
Eid shopping is one of the prominent aspects of Eid, especially for toys and gifts eagerly awaited by children. Eid shopping occurs in various locations throughout the wilayat, such as bustling markets, picturesque valleys and lively parks.
