Oman Medical Complex, Ibri conducts CME programme
MUSCAT: Oman Medical Complex, Ibri conducted CME programme on Medicine recently at Oman Medical Complex conference hall. The programme is accredited by Oman Medical Speciality Board. There were about 170 attendees which included doctors and paramedical staff from various hospitals and clinics of Al Dhahira region and from other regions. Salah Al Abri, supervisor, Private Health Affairs, DGHS, Al Dhahira Region, Ministry of Health, Ibri, Sultanate of Oman presided over the conference.
The first lecture was on ‘ Approach to Anaemia’ by Dr Vijesh C. Nair MBBS, MD (Internal Medicine), junior specialist, Dept of Medicine, Oman Medical Complex, Ibri, Oman. The second presentation was on ‘Smoking Cessation’ by Amarender, medical representative, Glaxosmithkline Consumer Healthcare, Muscat Pharmacy. The third presentation was on ‘Importance of history taking and examination in clinical practice with examples of cases’ by Dr Abraham K. Abraham MBBS, MD (Internal Medicine), FCPS, senior consultant, Dept of Medicine, Ibri Regional Hospital, Sultanate of Oman.
The fourth presentation was on ‘Decompensated Chronic Liver Disease – Current Management Concept’ by Dr Bishnu Kiran MBBS, MD (Internal Medicine), junior specialist, Dept of Medicine, Oman Medical Complex, Oman.
The last presentation was by Dr Bimal Chakarborthy MBBS, Fellowship in Cardiology, MRCP (UK) – Part II, junior specialist, Dept of Medicine, Ibri Regional Hospital, Sultanate of Oman on ‘Lupus! Mistakenly when body attacks itself’. The programme was sponsored by Glaxosmithkline Consumer Healthcare, Muscat Pharmacy, Muscat, Oman and a memento was given to the speakers by Dr H. Usha Rani MBBS, DCH, DGO, Director, Oman Medical Complex, Ibri, Oman.
The programme was very informative for the audience. The programme finished at 10.30pm with a vote of thanks proposed by D. Krishna Kumar, manager administration, Oman Medical Complex, Ibri, Oman.
