Bankdhofar promotes Omani staff to upper administra­tion level

MUSCAT: BankDhofar has promoted M. R. Faisel Hamed Suliman Al Wahibi as deputy general manager, Retail Banking Division with effect from April 2013.

Faisel holds Bachelor of Science in Business Administra­tion from University of Missouri, USA as well as different courses and training in banking industry. Faisel has been working with BankDhofar since March 2009, was been entrusted with the responsibi­lity as assistant general manager, Retail Banking Division. He has contribute­d immensely during this tenure to the growth and developmen­t of the bank. Before joining BankDhofar Faisel had 19 years’ experience in high-growth, low cost and innovative executive management in banking, telecom and business process. Faisel has worked for BankMuscat, Commercial Bank of Oman and Omantel.

BankDhofar is committed to investing in the training and developmen­t of Omani staff for careers in the bank which will in turn contribute to the growth of the country. It is succeeding in this through its own central educationa­l hub, the BankDhofar Academy which seeks to incorporat­e the highest standards in learning methodolog­y for employees across the business, enabling them to increase their skills and increase productivi­ty and profitabil­ity overall.

The bank has also launched an innovative Women’s Developmen­t Programme to support the profession­al and personal developmen­t of its female employees, encouragin­g them to realise their full potential as important contributo­rs to the bank’s growth. Speaking on Faisel’s appointmen­t, Tony Mahoney, CEO, BankDhofar said, “We strongly support the directives of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and his government to implement Omanisatio­n across the banking sector.

BankDhofar will continue to embrace the Omanisatio­n programme and work in partnershi­p with the government to ensure the developmen­t and success of the national workforce. As the bank continues to expand across the Sultanate it will set targets to ensure that as many Omani employees as possible are trained and held positions across the bank.
