Organised in partnership and participation of Safety First ambassadors, Oman’s national football team captain Ali Al Habsi and international rally champion Hamad Al Wahaibi, OOC’s staff showed their support to this worthy cause by signing the campaign’s pledge to instil positive road user behaviour.

The event took place as part of the agreement between OOC and its affiliates and subsidiaries with Safety First, says a press release.

“We are firm believers in the messages of Safety First’s campaign to prevent road accidents and save lives. Thus, we are combining our efforts to promote the importance of a safe environment throughout our communities,” said Mulham Al Jarf, Deputy CEO of OOC. “Leading by example, our staff members signed the pledge during Ali and Hamed’s visit and more support will follow from our group of companies, setting a positive example for others to follow as we deliver on our promise to put the community’s welfare at the forefront,” Al Jarf added.

“It was truly impressive to meet the Oman Oil Company employees and engage them on becoming safer road users. As a responsible organisation, they are concerned about their employees as well as the communities in Oman, which is reaffirmed by the work they have done with Safety First in promoting road safety since last year,” said Ali Al Habsi.

To further spread the message among Omani youth with relevance to OOC’s commitment in social responsibility, OOC arranged the ambassadors’ visit to the Child Care Centre and engaged the children with several activities including a friendly football match.

“It is our responsibility to ensure that children in Oman are mentored on safe road usage from a young age. On behalf of Safety First, I would like to thank all our partners for their continued support to enable us reach out with this significant message,” Al Habsi added.

OOC’s CSR agenda focuses on sustainable growth targeting sustainable programmes that benefit the community.
