The award is instituted by IdamMuscat, a cultural organisation based in Oman.
Social activist T. N. Joy won the award last year.
Poet K. Satchidanandan, writer Paul Zacharia, mediaperson N. Madhavan Kutty, academic Sunil P. Ilayidam and Joy will attend the function.
The award is first of its kind from the Gulf.
Rajeevan, whose presence was marked in the field of thought and criticism for the last 45 years, is well known among the intelligentsia of Kerala. His collection of articles titled Vakkukalum Vasthukkalum (words and objects) was published in 2009. The book was considered for the award as it was the best original work of thought written in Malayalam between 2009-2013, jury chairman Satchidanandan said.
