Visit Ostadi to savour authentic Iranian food
The restaurant, which has a separate family hall and a prayer room, serves a wide range of dishes, including appetisers, main courses and desserts.
“We have a separate section for sandwiches and serve special Iranian sandwiches, offered for the first time in the Gulf,” said Al Zadjali, while showing the menu featuring some of the favourite family-style, comfort Iranian dishes, such as traditional soups, salads, kebabs and chicken and meat dishes.
An Iranian hospital is also planned to be established close to this restaurant, Al Zadjali said, referring to a 400-bed multispeciality hospital, which will be the most modern hospital in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
Al Habsi, the other co-owner of the restaurant, said that there are three Iranian chefs working at the restaurant and 60 per cent of the staff is Iranian.
More Iranians will join the restaurant in the near future, he said, adding that food is a way to introduce the culture of a country.
“Mamdooh and I will be managing the restaurant on a daily basis to ensure the quality of service,” said Al Habsi, who has a long term plan to open an Omani restaurant in Iran.
Special Ostadi Restaurant is open the whole week, from 12 noon to 12 midnight, with a break from 4 pm to 6 pm from Sunday to Wednesday.
